  • Initiated NECRD as a National centre in Guwahati as the overall administrative and financial in charge
    (The centre had  long term objective of creating a think tank with rich archival resources and a pool of experts to facilitate research on North-East India)

Responsibilities

  • To conceptualize , strategize an achievable action plan for research in Fundamental Science, Social Science, Humanities, Management, Communication and Technology
  • To organize Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, and assist in outreach and dissemination of activities of IGNOU in the region
  • To collaborate with local policy making Institutions, Industries, Universities, Research Organizations, and other Government and Non-Government Organizations
  • To offer schemes such as Research and Teaching Assistantships (RTA) and fund Major/ Minor Research Projects
